Itinerary :
  • Day 1 - Your journey begins...
Cities Covered : Corbett National Park ,  New Delhi ,  Ramnagar
Corbett National Park is named after Jim Corbett, the fearless hunter and author of "Man–Eaters of Kumaon", who later became a wildlife photographer. It is India’s oldest wildlife sanctuary, founded in 1936. Corbett National Park is located in the foothills of Himalayas. It is famous for its wild population of tigers, leopards and elephants and can boast such a great variety of fauna because of its natural habitat diversity. In the Jim Corbett National Park there are 110 tree species, 50 mammalian species, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species.

The national capital territory of Delhi is situated between the Himalayas and Aravalis Ranges in the heart of the Indian sub-continent. Delhi is considered one of the most historic capitals in the world, and two of its monuments — the Qutab Minar and Humayun's Tomb — have been declared World Heritage Sites. Exploring Delhi is both rewarding and fascinating. The most visited places in Delhi include the majestic Red Fort, the historical Chandni Chowk, as well as Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana -- modern structures constructed after India's Independence in 1947.

The city was built and destroyed seven times and has been witness to the various events which have brought India through the history books. It is believed that the Pandavas, the heroes of the epic Mahabharata, originally founded Delhi (then called Indraprastha) around 1200 B.C. Present day Delhi is built around the ruins of seven ancient cities.

As a commercial hub, Delhi has many shopping areas to offer its tourists. Visit the upscale avenues of Connaught Place, or go to Delhi Haat for handicraft goods. Don't forget to stop at Janpath Market for a variety of inexpensive traditional and souvenir items to bring home to your friends and relations.

Ramnagar Fort, located 14 km from Varanasi, houses a museum displaying the Royal collection which includes old silver and brocade palanquins for the use of the ladies of the court, elephant howdahs made of silver brocades, a replica of the royal bed and an armoury of swords and guns. Only one mile from Corbett National Park, Ramnagar lends an element of history to your wildlife adventure.

You are met upon arrival at Delhi International Airport or at your hotel in Delhi. Journey by air-conditioned car to Corbett National Park near Ramnagar. This is India's first National Park to come under Project Tiger. Corbett National Park supports a variety of vegetation, making it the ideal habitat for the tiger and its prey. Upon arrival late this afternoon, check into your hotel, then drive to Corbett National Park for an evening Jeep safari. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
